Thanks.
Even though it's like..the precipice of destruction, I wanted it to be kinda serene?
So...she wouldn't be like o_o;;;
I thought about giving her a weapon but...a weapon is a weapon, whether it's used to defend or destroy. It wouldn't support the contrast, I think.
Thanks.

Why, thanks.
I wish I wasn't experimenting so much, though..
On the one hand, I often discover new stuff and approaches,
but on the other hand, I don't really have a pipeline I can
estimate and blindly follow.
Since I usually tackle a drawing/painting differently every time,
I can't tell how long it will take or what it'll look like...

Very experimental? Very successful!
I like it, I do... but something about the left half just bothers me. Was there a resizing problem, or a filter or something? I feel like it's jpeg artifacts at work, but then you notice the rectangular lighting on his arms and head, and just don't know what to think.

Hey, thanks!
my my, a watch, a fave and a COMMENT?! <3<3
Yeah, I see what you mean about the left half. There was no compression or resizing issue, it's like that on purpose. Well, more or less.
It is a number of a filters and adjustments.

Here's the more or less unedited piece, and...I just thought the filtered one had a bit more of...well, character.
I STILL SUCK AT PICKING AND PAINTING COLOURS.
Aaaaand I probably did go a little overboard and I usually don't like to rely on filters to get a certain effect, but...yeah, it felt right for me at that time.
Looking back, I should just simply paint over it.
Thanks for your comment!
I appreciate it when comments add up to more than just "cool". <3

Aah, I actually like that version more. What the version on FA lacks I think is 'crispness'... which is what the unedited piece has, but that one doesn't have the darker contrast this one does. I'd keep working at it if I were you, dunno what application(s) you use though.
And uh, thinking that you suck at something [in art] is usually a good thing!! It means you have room for improvement.
Now, I'd tell you that you -don't- suck, but... any artist worth his salt needs to feel that gutt wrenching sensation of incompleteness in order to get anywhere serious (or for that matter get anything done!!).
I was also going to write up a request for you for one of my snerrets [my name is actually Dubby], but my comp decided to crash before I hit the submit button. >_>

Hm yeah but the colours seem overboard to me in the unedited version.
Problem with my self criticism is that it keeps me from applying for a job xP
Cause I have very high expectations of myself.
Your request is accepted ;) But no promises, as always.
Did you want anything specific or do you grant me full reign?
